“Let justice roll down like a river, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.”
- Amos 5: 24

We’re passionate about justice-making and realize this can be manifest in countless ways. Some of the ways we’re focusing on this currently, other than our specific involvement in the neighbourhoods we live in, are:

Free Burma Campaign

We continue to fundraise and promote the urgent needs of the internally displaced ethnicities in Burma, and the refugees on the Thai border who have fled the Nazi-like regime that currently rules Myanmar. We support the work of Partners Relief and Development. This organisation works with and on behalf of the people of Burma. Partners have staff based in two offices on the ground in Thailand and international offices in Australia, the US, the UK, Canada, Norway and New Zealand. They currently help thousands of refugees and displaced people in Thailand and Burma.

Oliver! the musical

Our Oliver! musical (to be performed Dec 9-12 2008 at Lifepoint Auditorium, Hopper st, Mt Cook), will be raising funds for Partners Relief & Development, who are working with thousands who have fled the Maynmar junta. In particular – and in keeping with the context of the musical – we are raising awareness and funds for those at risk of child slavery because of their vulnerable situation in that part of the world.

PassionFest

In partnership with Servants and the Anglican Diocese of Wellington, Urban Vision is trying to help provide an encouraging forum for those who are on the journey of justice-making in Aotearoa/New Zealand. Click here for more details.
